Background

Theme is to look like Lego blocks. It uses baking trays sprayed in various bright coloured car paints
It builds on the original Jeepney and LEtsGO, trying to resolve some of the issues that they had
See more of the build log on https://www.facebook.com/JacklsRobots
Construction
How is the chassis constructed?
Majority of the chassis is constructed from 20mm x 20mm box section. Its fully welded together
The box section used allows a level of flex over rough surfaces that is beneficial

Steering? Geometry?
Steering is direct in the style of a go-kart
There is about 8 degrees of negative camber and around 8 degrees of positive caster
Where are your wheels, tyres, hubs, axles from?
Majority of components are from mini ATVs
It uses tyres13x5.00-6 with a knobbly pattern.
The axle is a cutdown single axle from an ATV. This has been cut in half and turned down.
The hubs are bored out and welded onto the shaft. No chance of moving around
How do your brakes work?
Each axle has a brake disc with a hydraulic braking system using components from an ATV
The master brake cylinder is actuated directly from the brake pedal

Powertrain
Motor
Uses twin 1500W BLDC motors. The chain tension can be simply adjusted by slacking a couple of easy access bolts.
ESC
2 x Whitebox 1500W e-bike controller. These are not modified as the Hacky runs close to the fuse limit with 3Ah consumed per race
It has been run on 2 x 2000W controllers with a 40A fuse. It was a blast but not race legal.
Details of chain and gear ratio?
11: 64 sprockets through a chain
Do you have a diff?
No diff fitted, the dual motors act as an electronic diff.
Where is your battery from?
Hobbyking but now consistently out of stock
Other Features

Changing the wheel/tyre changes the ratio of the gearing by a few percent which can be handy
